CryptoVault -- Self-Custodial Vault Software

Terms of Service

Effective: April 2026

CryptoVault is software -- not a bank, exchange, custodian, or financial advisor. We provide a user interface to interact with public blockchain smart contracts.

1. Service Description

CryptoVault is a self-custodial time-lock vault software tool that enables users to:

Generate and manage their own blockchain wallets (self-custodial)
Create time-locked vaults via smart contracts on public blockchains
Send and receive cryptocurrency tokens
View wallet balances and transaction history

2. Self-Custodial Nature

You -- and only you -- control your private keys. CryptoVault cannot access, freeze, or move your funds under any circumstances.
CryptoVault never stores or transmits your private keys
CryptoVault cannot reverse or modify any blockchain transaction
If you lose your seed phrase, funds are permanently inaccessible

3. Subscription (CryptoVault Pro)

CryptoVault offers an optional subscription for enhanced software features:

Free tier: 1 active vault at a time
Pro tier: Unlimited vaults across all chains

The subscription is a software license fee:

Paid in USDT via blockchain transfer
Non-refundable once confirmed on-chain
Does not auto-renew
Not a payment for financial services or custody

4. Zero Platform Fees

CryptoVault charges zero platform fees on vault creation, token locking, or withdrawals. The only costs are blockchain gas fees (paid to validators) and optional Pro subscription.

5. Smart Contracts

Open-source and verifiable on block explorers
Immutable once deployed
Self-executing regardless of CryptoVault involvement

6. User Responsibilities

Secure your private keys and seed phrase
Understand blockchain transaction risks
Comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction
Do not use the software for illegal activities
Be at least 18 years old

7. Geographic Restrictions

CryptoVault is not available to residents of the following jurisdictions:
Sanctioned countries (OFAC): Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the non-government controlled areas of Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk), Russia
United States -- New York: blocked pending NYDFS BitLicense / Limited Purpose Trust Charter review

Access is blocked at the network edge using IP geolocation. Attempting to bypass these restrictions (VPN, proxy, falsified location) is a material breach of these Terms.

8. Sanctions & AML Compliance

Before processing any Pro subscription payment, CryptoVault screens the paying wallet address against:

The U.S. Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list
Chainalysis on-chain sanctions oracle (public smart contract)
Our internal blocklist of addresses linked to known exploits

Payments from listed addresses are rejected and the paying wallet is emailed a notice. No personally identifying information is submitted to third-party screening services -- we query only the public on-chain address.

9. No Warranties

The software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

10. Limitation of Liability

CryptoVault is not liable for losses from lost keys, smart contract bugs, network failures, price volatility, or incorrect transaction parameters.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where CryptoVault operates. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of written notice shall be finally settled by binding arbitration. You waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Force Majeure

CryptoVault is not liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including blockchain outages, regulatory action, RPC provider downtime, internet routing failures, or natural disasters.
